When you’re making important decisions about your family, your assets, and your future—you want a plan that actually works when it matters.

That’s where Paul comes in.

Paul focuses on helping individuals and families create clear, well-structured estate and elder law plans—so there are no loose ends, no confusion, and no surprises down the road. Whether you’re planning ahead or dealing with a more urgent situation, his approach is thoughtful, practical, and detail-driven.

He works with clients on:

  • Estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance medical directives
  • Asset protection and Medicaid planning
  • Special needs planning
  • Guardianships and conservatorships

Paul’s background gives him a unique perspective on protecting what families have built. Earlier in his career, he represented creditors in bankruptcy matters and worked extensively in residential and commercial real estate law. That experience allows him to anticipate risks, spot issues others might miss, and design plans that hold up in the real world—not just on paper.

Clients appreciate that Paul takes the time to explain things clearly and make sure every piece of the plan fits together the way it should.

Experience & Background

Paul is admitted to practice before all Virginia courts, as well as the Federal District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

He earned his law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law, following undergraduate studies in mathematics at Dartmouth College, where he developed the analytical mindset he brings to his work today.

He has been recognized multiple times as a “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business Magazine and as a Top Lawyer in Lynchburg Business Magazine and Lynchburg Living.

Community Involvement

Paul has deep roots in the Lynchburg community and has been actively involved in local organizations for many years. He has served in leadership roles with the Lynchburg Bar Association and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army in Lynchburg. He is also a longtime member and past president of the Rotary Club of Lynchburg–Morning.

Outside the office, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as getting out on the golf course or the James River.

What to Expect

When you work with Paul, you can expect a clear process, careful attention to detail, and a plan designed to work the way it’s supposed to—when your family needs it most.
